I got the error message that the plug-in couldn't be found so I named it back to Battery 3.dll. When I began encountering this problem this was the first place I looked. It is not what one would expect from who ever is at fault here. I am a really pissed-off person attempting to use Battery 3 with Cubase. This may or may not be true: If Battery 3 is NOT the first VST Instrument plug-in in the VST Instrument list IT might actually load.

I have become extremely frustrated not to mention irritated by the whole affair. The "Setup" manual states that the dll file should be VST.dll (I assume this means Batter圓VST.dll) yet the only file installed (even thought when I installed Battery 3 I picked install VST only from the options) is Battery 3.dll (with a space between Battery and 3). I have spent days trying to figure out the issue to no avail. I can save the C4 file (if I can actually load Battery 3 to the VST Instruments) and when I attempt to reload the project, when C4 is loading the file it hangs up when it hit the load VST instruments (namely Battery 3). Either C4 freezes when I attempt to add Battery as a VST Instruments.or after I (if I am able to)successfully add Battery 3 to the VST Instruments, the problems do not go away. That's about all I have for now.I have had nothing but problems with Battery 3 functioning correctly with Cubase 4. One subjective point is, I find the PT VI's a little more mature and useful, whereas with Studio One I have had to purchase 3rd party instruments DB3 organ comes to mind. Studio One has greatly streamlined creating tracks from multi-channel VI's. I like PT's quantizing slightly more (whether it's just that I'm used to it or it has more features I can't decide). Studio One's Melodyne integration is fantastic! Select a track, Ctrl+M and you're editing in Melodyne.

There are some things I really like a about both, PT is like putting on a favourite pair of jeans, comfortable, familiar. Studio One I picked up when Avid was a little slow getting to 64 bit (a lot of VI's made 64 bit processing quite attractive and Presonus had a sale. I'm comfortable with the PT work flow, which are the main reasons I stay with PT.

My collaborator is a PT user therefore anything I am working with him on will be in PT.
